Membership

Benefits

Become a member of the Wanaka Community Workshop for $50 per calendar year ($75 for families) and enjoy the following:

Participate in the Community Workshops

Come to the weekly Wo(Men)Shed Community Sessions, help with projects, make something, learn to sew! These are on Tuesdays and Thursdays 9am-12. This is a great way to learn new skills and make a difference at the same time

Use The Workshop For Your Projects

Members can use the Workshops for their own projects. NB: To use the Woodwork Shop it is required a Supervisor is present and there is a minimum of two people.

Access To The Raw Material Library

We are being donated a wide range of materials from building supplies, wood, ply and fastenings through to fabric and bike components. As a member you will be able to access this resource and take what you need on a Koha basis (pay what you think is fair).

Access To The Tool Library / Shop

As with raw materials we are also gathering tools from the community with a view to getting them back out there and into the hands of people who need them. We are building a set of tools that members can borrow for their projects and will also have some tools available to purchase. NB: You can not borrow the Workshop Tools.

Support A Growing Community Asset

We would like the WCW to become a truly valuable community asset, your membership really helps us in showing we have support when it comes to our funding applications and building up the facility.

Free Or Discounted Facilitated Events

In the future we plan to have supervised workshops running most weeks. We have people interested in running Fabric Screen Printing, Tie Dying, Felting, Wood Turning workshops that may require a small charge to attend. Members will enjoy a free or discounted rate depending on the event.

Community!

Meet new people, make friends, enjoy the camaraderie of fixing and making stuff together!
